Senior Indian official confirmed today that all efforts to retrieve body of killed American missionary John Allen Chau have been put on hold for now. As reported earlier Allen was killed last week by an endangered tribe in Andaman and Nicobar Island. This is believed that the officials have decided this in order to not disturb protected Sentinelse tribe’s people. He landed at Island 17th November 2018. John was on a mission to convert tribes to Christianity when he was killed with arrows by tribes.

Bally Chohan spoke to an official who on condition of anonymity confirmed that a boat was dispatched to the concerned area however this was only to check prevailing situation. Several groups have raised objections to the search operations being carried out at tribes place. Moreover this is believed to be very risky also.

Anthropologists from India have also shared their concerns with officials that by search teams visiting island the tension will escalate. As per law a murder case has been registered and police is duty bound to search. During their investigation police has tried several times to get close to island. They used ships and helicopter.

This is not the first case. In the year 2006, two Indian fisherman were killed by Sentinelese.
